About
Hi and welcome to UKMac.net.
My name is Scott Paterson and I have been a Mac user for the last 4 or 5 years since I bought my first Mac, a 17″ G5 iMac. At work I am an IT Manager in a large UK Hospital where I am responsible for several thousand Windows PC’s, a few hundred servers, a large network and a huge range of mostly Windows applications. Dealing with Microsoft tools all day at work and reading more and more about the benefits of OS X eventually led me to make the leap to Mac and I have been a keen devotee ever since.
In recent months I have begun to convince friends and family of the benefits of Apple products and have seen half a dozen of them recently make the switch from Windows as well. For this reason alone I believe that the predictions of a sea change, particularly in home use, of Macs and OS X are about to become reality.
This blog is a collection of personal picks from the wealth of Mac news and review sites around the Internet along with a few hints and tips thrown in for good measure.
If you have found this site and would like to be part of the future development please drop me a line or a comment. I would love to see more contributions here especially from UK based Mac users and switchers.
Welcome again and enjoy.
